Arthur Becker is a property investor that makes his home in the city of New York. He is also an accomplished artist who displays some of his work at his Tribeca business office. Just down the street is his latest real estate project which he has decided to go solo on for the first time. Once completed this building, located at 465 Washington Street, is going to be a luxury condominium with eight units and a value of around $52.5 million.
In the 1980’s, Arthur Becker worked for Bear Stearns as a stockbroker. Eventually, he started buying technology companies in the early years of 2000 which led to great returns. He started his investment company, Madison Partners, LLC, later on and how owns high-end properties in both Miami, Florida and New York.
In his personal life, Arthur Becker was married to Vera Wang, the notable fashion designer, for over 20 years. They separated in 2012 and have two daughters together. He lives in one of three neighboring townhomes that he owns on Sullivan Street. These properties combined are worth approximately $50 million. One of the focuses of Arthur Becker’s art is often on money and the role it plays in societies around the world. One of his pieces is a sculpture that he made out of crumpled paper cash and gold bars. His work has been put on display in a number of exhibits. He has also sold his work to others, usually people that have been successful on Wall Street.
Arthur Becker got his Bachelor of Arts degree at Bennington College. He also attended Amos Tuck Business School – Dartmouth. His very first business involved moving historical homes in the states of New England. Arthur has been the CEO and on the board of the technology companies NaviSite as well as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zinio, LLC.
