Ryan Seacrest is the most popular television and radio personality in the United States and has been since the early 2000’s. He’s known for his chipper personality and witty humor, but in the beginning, he was just a boy full of personality growing up in Atlanta, Georgia. Raised by his real estate lawyer father and stay-at-home mother, Ryan Seacrest attended Dunwoody High School where he showed a promise in the broadcasting industry.
His first job was an internship with Tom Sullivan when he was just 16 years old; he worked at WSTR FM Radio and performed several tasks for the team there. However, when the regular DJ couldn’t make it into work, Ryan Seacrest was allowed on the air in his place and that’s where he developed his love for radio.
He continued working at WSTR until he graduated from high school, and moved on to attend the University of Georgia with hopes of becoming a journalist. That stint was short-lived because he felt his career calling in Hollywood, so he packed up at 19 years old and moved to California (Facebook).
Ryan Seacrest wasn’t wrong about his vision at all; he became one of the most popular hosts in Hollywood and still is today. He’s best known for his hosting roles on popular shows like American Idol and American Juniors which allows people from across the nation to compete for musical stardom. He was also the host of Deadline Hollywood’s TV special until it ended in 2016. Ryan Seacrest was one of the most recognized hosts on E! News where he signed a major deal for $21 million and introduced “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”.
Today Ryan Seacrest is the co-host to Kelly Ripa on the hit day-time live show “Live with Kelly and Ryan.” He continues to host other small segments like “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” but he is still the most beloved host today and of yesteryear. The University of Georgia even awarded him an honorary degree later at their 2016 graduation where he was their commencement speaker.
