Hollywood is moving once again a classic Broadway show to the big screen with “Cats” as their newest project. Recently, Rebel Wilson, actress, producer, and writer has signed on to play the role of Jennyanydots, a lazy cat that enjoys dancing in the moonlight, cooking and teaching mice her creative and energetic ways which include having an army of cockroaches at her command, in the daytime, well she’s just another lazy cat soaking up the sun. Rebel Wilson and the Cat cast have been rehearsing in the Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire for the past few months in preparation for the theatrical release set to be around the 2019 holiday season. Rebel Wilson joins a star-studded cast which includes Taylor Swift, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson and many more big names that are sure to be added in the coming months. This performance, however, is not a first for Rebel Wilson, in fact, Wilson graduated from the Australian theater for young people in 2003 where she was first introduced to the stage.
A few years later, Wilson would go on to produce and star in her own comedy musical Bogan Pride, the BBC show would be a six-part series about a coming of age tale featuring a heavy teenage girl played by Rebel Wilson and her overweight mother who is confined to a living room chair.
In 2011, Rebel Wilson would move to the United States to pursue a career in acting after a brief sickness with the diseases malaria in South Africa gave her hallucinations of being an actress and receiving an Oscar. We would first be introduced to Rebel Wilson when she landed the role of Brynn, the sister of Matt Lucas’s character on the box office hit Bridesmaids.
With Rebel Willson’s inclusion into the “Cats” cast, there is no doubt that the movie will be receiving the quality acting it deserves.
