Niranjan Shah Corporate Accomplishments

Niranjan Shah was brought up in a tiny village in India that lacked basic amenities. He attained his undergraduate degree in Engineering from theBirla Engineering College at Sardel Patel University in India. He moved to Chicago in 1972, where he settled before establishing Globetrotters Engineering Corporation. When the company was starting, Niranjan Shah was the only employee who worked on a full-time basis.

The firm had its first workspace in the southern part of Chicago. With time, the business grew popular all over the USA with Niranjan Shah obtaining a business license to perform in various states such as Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Mr. Shah also took up a management training course from the Harvard Business School. Additionally, the CEO is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Globetrotters Engineering Corporation has handled significant designs in Chicago, such as the Deep Tunnel Project, which earned the firm an Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award. The company received the state award in 1986 from the American Society of Civil Engineers. Other projects have put the Globetrotters on the map. Some of them include McCormick Place Expansion, Midway International Airport’s Redevelopment, O’Hare Airport’s International Terminal 5, and John Stroger Jr. Hospital.

In response to the appeal by Mayor Daley, Niranjan Shah worked for the Economic Development Committee for Chicago. Mr. Shah has also taken up the Vice-Chairman position on the Asian American Advisory Committee. In Mount Sinai Hospital, which is based in New York, he serves as part of the Governing Board. He has also positively impacted the Illinois State Police Merit Board through his contributions to the civil service programs.

Background Information Apart from his corporate life at Globetrotters Engineering Corporation, Niranjan Shah has been involved in several charitable acts for facilities such as the Shah Center, Leading India’s Future Today (LIFT), and Sister Cities International. He has also been on the board of organizations like the Illinois Board of Regents and the Laboratory Schools of the University of Chicago. The Illinois Board of Regents is the administration board for the Sangamon State University, Illinois State University, and Northern Illinois University.
