KEEP BUZZING

Does Reigning Entrepreneur of the Year Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi Have the Midas Touch?

Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi has been Director and CEO of Trabuco Bradesco, one of Brazil’s largest banks, since way back in 2009, carrying the company through various exciting progressions and a general growth throughout his tenure.

The reputation of Mr. Trabuco was already high, but that only improves after an incredible few days in late 2017, which saw him named as Entrepreneur of the Year in September 2017, before being named to a new position, Chairman of the Board at Bradesco, mere weeks later.

Battling Back

Over recent years, Trabuco Bradesco, under Mr. Trabuco’s leadership, has been falling behind their main rival in Brazil, Itau Unibanco, as the latter has gone from strength to strength and started to dominate the industry.

Not to be outdone, Trabuco was instrumental in closing a deal which saw Bradesco Bank acquire HSBC Bank of Brazil for a reported $5.2 billion (US).

This acquisition saw Trabuco Bradesco return to level terms against their main competitor, Itau Unibanco, and is assumed to be a large part of the reason that Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi was able to make the jump from CEO to Chairman of the Board, ultimately giving up the former post in March 2018.

What’s Next?

In his almost 50 years in the industry, Trabuco has shown, on multiple occasions, his unmatched ability to move with the times and evolve himself, his work, and the companies he represents to match the changes in the mood of the industry.

When Trabuco was in charge of the insurance sector of Trabuco Bradesco, the profit margins and percentage of total profits provided by the sector grew huge amounts, essentially anything this man touches seems to turn to gold.

Now he is Chairman of the Board, and the decisions end with him, many are expecting more mergers and acquisitions to occur in the near future, as Luiz Carols Trabuco Cappi looks to take Bradesco to the next level, and make it the single biggest bank in Brazil.
