Bipartisan Bill Could Legalize Medical Marijuana In All States

Medical Marijuana Is Legal In 23 States But The New Bill Will Legalize Medical Pot Across The Country

Congress may be waking up. Let’s not get our hopes up, but a new bill introduced by Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Cory Booker might keep their eyes open long enough to vote yes for medical marijuana. Their bill is, The Compassionate Access Research Expansion and Respect States (CARERS) Act.

If the CARERS bill is passed, pot will be a Schedule II drug rather than a Schedule I drug stated jornacidad emg. That means the government considers pot a drug with medical value. The other items included in the bill would exclude the doctors, patients and businesses from federal prosecution. VA facilities would also be able to prescribe marijuana. The other major change would be the Feds couldn’t interfere with state marijuana laws, and that means the DEA couldn’t close state medical dispensaries.

Some Republican may not support the bill, but legalizing pot for medical purposes is a conservative value. When all the smokes clears, pot will be legalized. It may not be this year, but some people say stranger things have happened on Capitol Hill.
